What I Learned in Product Development Changed Everything
During my time in cosmetic product development, I learned how small formulation decisions make a huge difference. One of the most practical tools I’ve used ever since is: understanding oil spread behavior.
In the lab, we worked with concepts like surface tension and spread speed. This taught me how to create blends that absorb better, feel smoother and truly match the skin’s needs – without guessing.
Why Spread Speed Matters
Each oil spreads differently depending on its molecular structure and surface tension. Fast-spreading oils feel light and glide over the skin. Slow-spreading oils form a longer-lasting film and are better for deep nourishment.
Combining all three levels – fast, medium, and slow – creates the most effective blend.
